IDEXX Neo Release Notes - March 28, 2023

NEW: Consultation page new and improved!

The Consultation page just got a makeover! All the functionality you know and love is there, now enhanced with the features you have been asking for – all added to increase efficiency and accuracy.

For existing customers created before March 28:

The new consultation page will be released to existing customers on and after March 28 in phases.

As your company is phased in, users with the System Admin permission will see a Try our new experience toggle on the Consultation page – with a single click, your practice can be using the new features in no-time. NC_Toggle.png


Here are the most exciting improvements!

  1. Decrease data loss with new auto save functionality.
    • All fields auto-save except Notes.
    • Each field automatically saves as you tab or click to the next field, including consultation product lines.
  2. Reduce chances of overwriting notes with improved multi-user editing.
  3. New Patient History panel displays patient record details
    • Quickly and easily view a patient’s history without ever having to leave the consultation you are updating.
    • Click one of the tabs in the Patient History panel to view the history. Then click a link, as available to navigate to the corresponding record, which will open in a new browser tab.

  4.  Add procedure templates to your Favorites list.
    • Add procedure templates to your Favorites list to easily locate and select your most frequently used procedure templates.
    • The procedure templates Favorites list is per logged in user.

  5. Print prescription labels and rabies certificates when completing details.
    • After you have entered prescription details in the Prescribe/Refill window or rabies vaccine details in the Edit Vaccine Details window, you have the option to save and print the label or certificate from the respective window.
  6. View credits and unpaid invoices with improved payment workflow.
    • Clicking Pay on a closed consultation will take you to the client’s Outstanding Invoices page where the current consultation will be selected for you.
    • Review unpaid and partly paid invoices, as well as available credits, and take payment as usual.
      Note: Counter sales and legacy consultations will have no change to their payment workflow.

You asked, we answered! Here are additional consultation enhancements with this update:

  • Improved client and patient alerts so your staff doesn’t overlook key information.
  • Patient signalment at the top of the Consultation page to ensure you’re treating the right patient.
  • Enter visit title or description to aid when searching patient history.
  • Add procedure templates to closed consultations.
  • Prompt to update blank product line providers when you select a consultation provider that was previously left blank.
  • New alert reduces risk of billing for duplicate products.
