You can grant view-only access to a patient record to a third party. For example, a referral veterinarian, boarding facility, or groomer. You can also print a patient history to send to someone.
Note: You must have an email address saved to your user profile to grant third-party access.
Permission(s) required: Edit Records
- Click Patients.
- Search for and select the patient.
- Click 3rd Party Access.
You can see a list of everyone who has been granted access, the date access was created, and the date it will expire. Click the open pet portal buttonto preview the record in the portal.
- To provide access to a new party, enter the email address of the person or practice you are granting access to.
- Enter an expiration date for the access.
- Review or update the available options to include for the person you are granting access to.
- Show Prices = see prices on consultations. Not included by default.
- Show Declined Products = see declined products on consultations. Included by default.
- Show Files = see the patient Files tab and all saved files. Included by default.
- Click Add.
The new party will immediately be sent an email containing a link to view-only access of the patient's record. They will be able to view the following information:
- Client Overview general information
- Patient Overview general information
- Consultation notes and products
Note: Consultations will be displayed after the invoice is closed (marked ready to be paid).- The default view is for 1 year from "today". To change the view, click the calendar icon and select a different start and end date, as needed. Then click Go.
- Draft consultations will not display in the portal.
- Vaccines
Note: Voided vaccines will not display. - Rx
Note: Voided prescriptions will not display. - Problems
- Vitals (weights, TPR)
- Reminders
- Files, as applicable
- Results
Note: Only results with a status of Final will be displayed in the portal. WebPACS images/results will not display.
To remove access, prior to the expiration date click the trash can button
next to the party's name.
