Note: Boarding must be turned on for it to be accessible from your Schedule tab. For multi-branch practices only: Boarding can be turned on and customized per branch.
Any changes made to your practice’s boarding setup will automatically be saved.
Activate Boarding
- Click your name in the menu. Then click Administration.
- Under System Admin, click Boarding.
- If the toggle is turned off, click it to turn it on.
- Optional: Select a default check-in time.
- Optional: Select a default check-out time.
Note: The default check-in and check-out times will be used when creating new boarding reservations but can be modified per reservation.
Add Cage Types and Cages
Cage types can be entered based on your practice’s preferences and setup for grouping cages together. Cages may be named to reflect the type of boarding stay (daycare vs. overnight); type of cage (runs, suites, feline condo); patient size or weight range, and patient species.
Cages are automatically named with the cage type plus a sequential number. Example:
- In the Cage Type box, enter the name of a cage type.
- From the Count drop-down list, select the number of cages you have available of this cage type.
- From the Capacity drop-down list, select the maximum number of pets allowed to board per cage.
- Click the Add Cage Type button.
- Optional: Click +Add cage to add another cage to this cage type. Edit the cage name and capacity, as needed. Then click the checkmark at the end of the row to save.
Tip: Press Enter on your keyboard instead of clicking the checkmark to save your changes.
Edit Cage Types and Cages
- Hover your mouse at the end of the row you wish to edit. Then click the pencil icon.
Tip: Click the pencil icon at the end of multiple rows to edit more than one row. - Edit the name and capacity, as needed.
Tip: Press Tab on your keyboard to move from one box to the next. - Click the checkmark at the end of the row to save.
Tip: Press Enter on your keyboard instead of clicking the checkmark to save your changes.
Note: To cancel, click the “X” or press Esc on your keyboard.
Delete Cage Types and Cages
- Hover your mouse at the end of the row you wish to delete. Then click the trash can icon.
Tip: Clicking the trash can icon at the end of a cage type row will delete that cage type and all its cages.
Note: You can only delete cage types or cages that do not have any reserved or checked in reservations assigned to them. - You will receive a notification confirming you want to delete cages.
- Click OK to delete.
- Click Cancel to return to boarding setup.
Once you have completed your boarding setup, your practice is now ready to begin making boarding reservations!
