IDEXX Neo Release Notes - February 18, 2020

NEW: Appointment scheduler enhancements

Another week, another batch of updates based on your feedback! This release includes visual improvements to the Schedule, as well as the removal of appointments and boarding reservations upon a patient being marked deceased. Here are the details:

Appointment schedule visual improvements

  • We’ve made visual improvements to the appointment schedule, including subtly changing the navigation buttons to be consistent with others you’ll see in Neo (and other IDEXX products).
    • All current functionality of the calendar remains unchanged.
  • The Appointments schedule now opens to the current time when you navigate to the current day.
Note: This means you may need to scroll up to access the main navigation buttons and patient quicklist during certain times of the day.
  • The client’s first name is included on the appointment card.
    • First row of appointment card = Patient name, Client first name and last name
  • When patients are marked deceased, all future appointments and boarding reservations are automatically deleted from the Appointment and Boarding schedules.

Removal of Appointments and Boarding Reservations for Deceased Patients

  • Future appointments and boarding reservations are deleted from the Appointment and Boarding schedules when a patient is marked deceased on the patient Overview.
Note: You must click Save Changes on the patient Overview for the appointments and boarding reservations to be deleted.
    • You will see an alert that reminders, future appointments, and future boarding reservations will be deleted when a patient is marked deceased on the patient Overview.
  • Future appointments and boarding reservations will automatically be deleted when an invoice is closed (marked ready to be paid) that includes a product which has the ‘Set patient as deceased’ special action set.

    • Information has been added to the special action to alert users that reminders, appointments, and reservations will be deleted when a product with the special action is invoiced.

  • Appointment auditing has been added for appointment deleting, so we will know who deleted and when an appointment was deleted.

IMPORTANT: If the wrong patient is marked deceased, unmarking the patient will not automatically return their appointments and boarding reservations to the schedule: this is to prevent unknown or unintentional double-bookings.
