With the Patient History panel, you can quickly and easily view a patient’s history without ever having to leave the consultation you are updating, eliminating the need to open additional browser windows or tabs.
All information of the five most-accessed tabs in the patient history are displayed in each corresponding tab of the Patient History panel as view-only versions.

Note: The Patient History panel tabs or information displayed cannot be customized.
View Patient History panel from a consultation
- Start a new consultation or open an existing consultation.
- To view the Patient History panel, click the tab you want to view or click the arrow. When the Patient History panel is open, the arrow is replaced with an X.
Note: When you click the arrow, the Patient History panel will default to the Problems tab. - When the Patient History panel is open, click a tab name to view the corresponding tab’s history.
- To close the Patient History panel, click the X in the upper-right corner of the panel.
Tips for using the Patient History Panel
- The Patient History panel will remember the last tab viewed on a consultation until the page is refreshed or returned to by a user.
- The tab the Patient History panel will open to when you click the arrow will be bolded and underlined.
- The tab the Patient History panel will open to when you click the arrow will be bolded and underlined.
- The Patient History panel will update anytime the page or tab is refreshed or returned to by a user.
- When you update the current consultation while viewing the corresponding tab in the Patient History panel (for example, refilling a prescription while viewing the Rx tab), you will need to either refresh the page or click another tab to update the panel.
- When the Patient History panel is expanded and opened to the Rx tab, you can hover over:
- the information icon to view the prescription instructions.
- the discontinue icon to view the discontinue reason
- the information icon to view the prescription instructions.
- As available, when you click a link in the Patient History panel, corresponding information will open in a new browser tab, so you can easily review the patient record then return to the current consultation you were working in.
