Add a procedure template

Use procedure templates in consultations to ensure consistency in your practice. Regular procedures can be configured as templates with notes, products, and diagnostics so they are automatically added to a consultation. You can add multiple procedure templates to a consultation, and they can be edited as needed.

 Use a procedure template

Add a procedure template:

  1. Click your name in the menu bar. Then click Administration.
  2. Under Branch Management, click Procedure Templates.
  3. Click Add New Procedure Template.
  4. In the Add New Procedure Template window, enter a name for the template.
  5. Select the Group in Invoice check box if you want client invoices with this procedure to display only the procedure template name, quantity, and the total price (the sum of the line items). Leave the check box cleared to provide an itemized list on the invoice.
  6. Click Create Procedure.
  7. Click the name of newly-created procedure template.
  8. Click the Lines tab.
    Note: Items must be created before you can add them to the template. To delete items, select the check box next to the item and click Delete.
  9. Begin entering a name of a product to search for the item. Select the product name.
  10. Enter a default quantity for the product. If the quantity available is zero when you use the template, the product will not be added to the patient's consultation.
  11. Click Add. The items are added to the list alphabetically. To reorder the items, click the arrow icon at the end of a row and drag the item to order you want.
  12. When you have finished adding items, click the Overview tab.
  13. Add notes, if appropriate, and format the template as desired. This is helpful for standardizing consultation history.
  14. Click Save Template.

Update a procedure template:

  1. Click your name in the menu bar. Then click Administration.
  2. Under Branch Management, click Procedure Templates.
  3. Click the name of the procedure to edit.
  4. Make changes using the steps above. If you are changing the name of the template, change it just before you save it.
  5. Click Save Template.
