This article is for IDEXX Reference Laboratories and IDEXX in-house analyzer diagnostic products.
Before you can use IDEXX diagnostics, you must activate the diagnostic products downloaded from the IDEXX Directory of Services when you connected VetConnect PLUS. When the directory is updated, new diagnostic products appear alphabetically sorted in the Diagnostics Products list; but you can quickly find new diagnostic products by selecting the Show only new last 30 days checkbox.
When you set a unique selling price (either with tax included or excluding tax) for an IDEXX Reference Laboratories diagnostic product, first edit the markup rate for the product to a custom markup rate, and then set the selling price. If you have set a selling price but not a custom markup rate for IDEXX Reference Laboratories products and then change the default diagnostic markup, Neo will recalculate the selling price based on that, so you will need to reenter the selling price.

IMPORTANT:
- Once the Directory of Services is downloaded, you will not be able to order any diagnostics in Neo or VetConnect PLUS until you activate the products in Neo. This includes tests that were previously activated in VetConnect PLUS. In VetConnect PLUS, if a test is grayed out and you can't select it, it means it is not activated in Neo.
We recommend that you gather your diagnostic product list beforehand so you are ready to activate the products you use as soon as possible after the download. - We recommend that you activate only those tests you use.
- If you have diagnostic tests in your system that you are replacing with IDEXX diagnostic products, you must make your existing products inactive to prevent staff confusion. To order diagnostics in Neo, you must enter IDEXX diagnostic products on the consultation.
Note: After entering your VetConnect PLUS credentials, you initial diagnostic product information should be immediately available.
- On the menu, click your name. Then, click Diagnostics.
- Click Directory of Services.
- Select the check box next to each test you use in your practice to activate it.
- Select the source from the Sources dropdown (All Sources, IDEXX Reference Laboratories, IDEXX VetLab Station), if needed.
- Use the search box to find a diagnostic product.
- Select the Show only new last 30 days checkbox to display tests recently downloaded to the directory from VetConnect PLUS.
- Click Activate to activate the selected tests. Activated diagnostic products are added to the Products list.
- Click the product name to edit its details.
- You can change the product name that appears on notes, invoices, and labels.
- Update the pricing information, if needed. Neo will automatically update the pricing for any diagnostic whose price has not been modified when IDEXX updates the cost in the directory of services.
- Add any notes and additional info.
- Click Save Changes.
