Make a product inactive

Things to know about inactive products:

  • Inactive products do not appear in product searches unless you select the Include deactivated records check box. Inactive products have an Inactive label.
  • Inactive products you have used in the past will appear in consultation history.
  • If a product used on a procedure template is made inactive, the inactive product will automatically be removed from the template. If you activate that product again, it will be added back to the template.
  • Inactive products are not included in the Inventory Valuation report.
  • For IDEXX diagnostics products: If you use IDEXX diagnostics products, you must activate them before you can place an order. You must also inactivate any non-IDEXX diagnostic products that you are replacing with IDEXX products.
  1. Click your name in the menu bar. Then select Products.
  2. Search for the product you want to inactivate. The product list will filter as you type.
  3. In the search results, click the name of the product.
  4. Click the Status toggle. 
  5. Click Save.
