Add or change a procedure

 Add procedures to keep track of patients in surgical and procedure rooms. You can view all the procedures in progress in this window.

You can choose from the 10 most-recently viewed patients; so open the patient's record before you begin, if necessary.

You can send an SMS message from the procedure.

IMPORTANT: If your practice uses SmartFlow, you can add the patient to Procedures before creating a new consultation: sending a patient to SmartFlow from a procedure will automatically create the consultation for you. See Send a patient to SmartFlow for more information.

Add a procedure

  1. Search for and select the patient.
  2. Click the Procedures tab. You can change the date, if needed.
  3. Click + Add New.
  4. Select the provider.
  5. Select the room.
  6. Add notes (required).
  7. Optional. Add the anesthetic information.
  8. Optional. Add the duration in hours.
  9. Click Save Procedure.

Edit a procedure

  1. Click the Procedures tab. You can change the date, if needed.
  2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon on the procedure you want to edit.
  3. Make any necessary changes.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Delete a procedure

  1. Click the Procedures tab. You can change the date, if needed.
  2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon on the procedure you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete Procedure.
  4. Click OK.

Note: If the patient has been sent to SmartFlow, deleting a procedure will not discharge the patient. You must also discharge the patient from SmartFlow.
