IMPORTANT: Before you connect Trupanion to Neo (Step 2), review your canine and feline Species and Breeds lists in Administration > Patient Settings and update, as needed.
If you add a new canine or feline patient breed after Trupanion is connected, you will need to map that breed manually to a Trupanion breed.
This step is recommended to ensure you eliminate possible duplicates before you connect Trupanion and automatic mapping of Trupanion breeds to patient breeds occurs (Step 3 below).
See Manage patient species, breeds, and sexes for more information.

⚑ Step 3. Manage Trupanion breeds
To receive an Exam Day Offer (Opportunity), a canine or feline patient’s breed must be mapped to a Trupanion breed.
While as many breeds as possible are mapped when you connect Trupanion to Neo, you should review your patient breeds and manually map to a Trupanion breed, as needed.
Note: During connection in Step 2, canine and feline breeds with the word "mix" or "mixed" in them will be mapped automatically to Trupanion’s mixed breed options as follows:
- Canine mix or mixed breed = Trupanion’s Canine, Mixed breed (Unknown size)
- Feline mix or mixed breed = Trupanion’s Feline, Mixed breed (Cat)
The Manage Breeds page will show all breeds across all species listed in Patient Settings to ensure you can easily find all your canine and feline breeds in the event of typos or duplicates.
- On the menu, click your name. Then, click Administration.
- In the System Admin area, click Integrations.
- In the Trupanion section, click Manage Breeds.
- Breeds – Your practice breeds from the Breeds list in Administration > Patient Settings
- Species – Your practice species the breed is linked to in Administration > Patient Settings
- Patients – The number of patients per breed.
- Trupanion Breeds – The Trupanion breed mapped to your practice breed.
- To filter the list, enter a full or partial search term in the Search Breeds or Species box.
- Select the Show [number] Unmapped checkbox to view only the unmapped items.
- To map a Trupanion breed to a patient breed, hover over the row you want to edit. Then click the pencil icon when it appears.
- From the Trupanion Breeds drop-down, search for and select the breed you want to map to your practice’s corresponding breed.

Or click the red X to cancel.

If not already scheduled, your dedicated Trupanion team will be in touch soon to answer questions, organize staff training, and share additional resources to set up your practice for success with this program.
