Enter vaccine information and print certificates

When you add a vaccine product to the consultation, from the consultation line you can record the details including batch information. For rabies vaccines, you can also enter tag numbers and print the rabies certificate. 

Prerequisite: A product must be tracked as a vaccine to record vaccine details and print certificates from the patient’s Vaccines tab. See Manage vaccines, rabies tags, and certificates for more information.

Enter vaccine information and print a certificate 

  1. To start a new consultation, click Create Consultation. See Start a consultation and record a patient visit for more information. 
    OR 
    If the consultation has already been started, click the Consults tab and then click the consultation ID to open an existing draft consultation. 
  2. From the Provider drop-down list, select or verify the provider. 
  3. In the Product/Service area, search for and select a vaccine product. 
    Note: You can add only one rabies product to a consultation. When batch information is saved to the product, the oldest unexpired batch number and expiration date will display by default.
  4. Click the menu button NC_menu_button.png on the consultation product line and select Edit Vaccine Details. 
  5. In the Edit Vaccine Details window, enter the tag information (rabies only); verify or update the batch number, as available; and add a note about the location for the vaccine. 
  6. Save the vaccine details and print the certificate, as applicable. 
    • For rabies vaccines only. To print the rabies certificate now, click Save & Print. The certificate preview will open in a new browser tab. 
      • Click Print to print to a local printer. 
      • Click Cloud Print to print to a cloud printer, as available. 
        Note: If your practice’s rabies certificate template is set to auto-print, you will not need to click Cloud Print. 
      • Click Close Window to close the browser tab and return to the consultation. 
    • For non-rabies vaccines or to print the rabies certificate later. Click Save
  7. Click the menu button NC_menu_button.pngon the line with the vaccine to view the options: 
    • Edit Vaccine Details: Make changes to the vaccine details. 
    • View in Patient Record: View this vaccine on the Vaccines tab in the patient record (see the next section for more information). 
    • Print Rabies Certificate (rabies only): Print or email the certificate 
    • Remove: Delete the vaccine from the consultation [WC3] 
    • Decline: When the client declines a vaccine, move the product to the Decline area of the consultation.
  8. Click Ready to Pay and close the invoice. 
  9. If prompted, enter a tag number. This warning is set up in the product details.

View vaccine and rabies tag details and reprint a certificate 

From a patient’s Vaccines tab, you can view their vaccine and tag history and perform other tasks. 

  1. Search for and select the patient.
  2. Click the Vaccines tab. The patient's vaccines are listed in the order they were given.
  3. Click the view button legacy_view_eyeball.png to see additional vaccine details.
  4. Click the menu button legacy_menu.png to view the options:
    • View Consultation: View the consultation where the vaccine was added.
    • Print Rabies Certificate (rabies only): Print or email the certificate.
    • Update Tag # (rabies only): Correct the tag number and duration if you made a mistake or reissue a rabies tag if it’s been lost.
    • Void: Void the vaccine and any rabies tag details from the patient history. It will not remove the vaccine from the consultation. You will need to process a refund and/or enter the correct vaccine/tag details.

Tip:  The Date Given on the Vaccines tab is the consultation product line date. If this date is incorrect, you can edit the consultation
