Connect IDEXX diagnostics

Two-way diagnostic integrations save you time in your daily work flow, reduce the risk of manual order errors, and deliver convenient results right to your patient's record!

These are the steps common to all IDEXX diagnostic integrations to be completed:


  • These default settings are automatically applied to all diagnostic products, so review these first to save manually updating products later.
  • Go to Administration > Branch Settings to review these defaults.

Note that the video shows the work flow for practices that are not converting to Neo from another software.
 
All diagnostic orders and results are communicated through your IDEXX VetConnect PLUS account.
If you don't have an account, if you're having a problem entering your credentials, or if you entered your credentials and are not receiving results, contact VetConnect PLUS customer support:
  1. Once you have your credentials, go to Administration > IDEXX Diagnostics.
  2. Under Account Credentials, enter your IDEXX VetConnect PLUS account information.
  3. Click Connect. A confirmation message appears in the message bar. 
  4. To change your credentials, click the menu button menu_button.png and select Change Credentials.
Once you have connected VetConnect PLUS, the Directory of Services is automatically downloaded and it's time to manage reference data.

To use your laboratory invoice price instead of the list price when automatically marking up selling prices for your most commonly used tests, turn on IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing.

By turning on IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing:

  • Your IDEXX Reference Laboratories diagnostic products Unit Cost Prices will automatically be updated to use your lab invoice pricing for your most commonly used tests.
  • You will have the option to automatically update your Unit Selling Prices.
    • Unit Selling Price = Lab Invoice Pricing X Markup
  1. Click the IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing toggle to turn on invoice pricing for your most commonly used tests (tests ordered in the last 12 months).
  2. Click Continue to confirm automatically updating your Unit Cost Prices to your IDEXX invoice pricing.
    Or click Cancel and go to Step 4. Manage Reference data in this article.
  3. Click Yes to automatically update your Unit Selling Prices to your lab invoice pricing X markup.
    Or click No if you do not want your Unit Selling Prices to change.

Turn off IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing

You can turn off IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing to revert your Unit Cost Pricing back to list price, if desired.

  1. Click the IDEXX Reference Laboratories Invoice Pricing toggle to turn off invoice pricing for your most commonly used tests.
  2. Click Continue to automatically update your Unit Cost Prices back to list price.
  3. Click Yes to automatically update your Unit Selling Prices.

 
IDEXX uses standard terms to recognize your branch's species, breeds, and genders, so mapping is a critical step. Note that while mapping species and genders is required, mapping breeds is optional. It can take up to 24 hours for this data to be available.
 
  1. On the menu, click your name. Then, click Administration.
  2. In the System Admin area, click IDEXX Diagnostics.
  3. Click the menu button menu_button.pngand select Manage Reference Data.
  4. Click the tab to map (Species, Breeds, Sex).
  5. Click Show [number] unmapped to view only the unmapped items.
  6. The list on the left shows your practice’s values. In the corresponding field on the right, search for and select the corresponding IDEXX value. Your changes are saved automatically.
    Tip: Use the Search species or breeds box on the Breeds tab to quickly find specific breeds.

Note: If you add additional species later, you will need to return to this page and map the new species to standard IDEXX terms.

Each IDEXX diagnostic integration requires some specific setup steps. Click the links below for the full details of each integration:

 

IMPORTANT: Once the Directory of Services is downloaded, you will not be able to order any diagnostics in Neo or VetConnect PLUS until you activate the products in Neo. This includes tests that were previously activated in VetConnect PLUS.

We recommend that you gather your diagnostic product list beforehand so you are ready to activate the products you use as soon as possible after the download.

This is also a good time to inactivate any existing diagnostic products that have been replaced by IDEXX diagnostics.
